All my life has been impending doom.  Oil ‘shortages’ of the 70’s.  Cold War of the 80’s.  Gulf War and world instability of the 90’s. 9/11 and the Dot-Com Bubble bursting in the 2000’s.  etc.  Always something to keep people panicked about.  

There are two groups in the world that drive this panic:  Politicians and The Media.  

Now we have this Global Warming panic.  Except it’s not really a panic.  It’s more like a slow boil.  It’s like the crisis is stuck in mud and the politicians and the media as spinning the tires as hard as they can … and the whole thing is slowly moving forward, picking up speed.  But the panic is spreading, so this doom scenario is finally picking up speed … finally!

As I write this, it April 11, 2019 and it is currently snowing.  We got at least a couple of cms last night.  Of course, this is just weather. Whatever we observe that does not support the global warming epidemic is just weather … if a weather event occurs that falls within the predicted catastrophe, that is climate change.  This is how the epidemic is created.  Discard anything that does not support the fiction and pump up what does.  It’s dishonest.  

The basic prediction of global warming is:

“There will be mild winters and spring will be warmer and come earlier, with decreased snowfall.”

So, from now on, when we have a mild winter (which we have not) or a warmer spring (it’s currently snowing and -1C) and decreased snowfall (still 2 foot drifts in the yard,) that will be evidence of global warming.  Anything outside of that is weather.  Got it?

The industry of climate change has now reached the point where it can support itself.  Politicians can hoard more tax dollars.  Just about anybody can jump on board with some fake NGO and make a very nice living from the impending catastrophe.  Al Gore, who is  about 0 for 1000 on his predictions continues to make massive profits from his doom-saying.  It’s about the money folks.

This is just some random profiteer that I saw blathering on Twitter this morning.  His livelihood is completely tied into the lie, so he must repeat the global warming mantra every chance he gets.  Just a quick look at his Bio and links and you can see what is paying his mortgage.  He’s a marketer.  That is what he does for a living.  He markets global warming and defends it from anyone who dares attack it.  No amount of evidence or logic will ever convince him that his religion is wrong.  He is part of the industry of global warming and without the doom and gloom, without the fear, he would have to get a real job.  He a parasite.

On April 1st of this year, our beautiful leader enacted a Carbon Tax.  

The media is not just complicit with looting of people for global warming, but they are actually part of the profit feedline.  They are the feedback loop.  The global warming fanatics weave their doom and gloom message and the media feeds it back to them as news.  It’s a cycle, and will continue to revolve until someone or something jabs a stick between the spokes.  Only then will the message be disrupted. Online news sources might be that stick.  For many people, the mainstream media is slowly being replaced by alternative news sources which seek to provide information rather than pumping a narrative.  The globalists and social media giants (all who profit form the global warming religion) are doing their best to limit the damage of alternative media, but in truth they seem to be losing the battle.  Burning books and silencing people only works for a short period of time before natural human curiosity decides to discover what is being hidden and we get 95 thesis nailed to church doors. 

My conclusions about Global Warming:

• Is the climate changing?  Yes. 
• Is it caused by man-made CO2?  Who knows, but I don’t believe the marketeers and ‘scientists’ who are reaping obscene profits from pumping the epidemic.
• Is climate change bad?  No, it is neither good or bad, it just is.  We can and will adapt as needed, as humans always have.
• Will climate change lead to the eventually collapse of society?  Maybe … yes.  Society will breakdown, in part, because of disparity in belief and power.  Global warming creates those who blindly adhere to the faith and those that scoff.  When the blind decide to punish the scoffers, society will be shaken.
• What am I willing to do to ‘fix’ global warming?  I will prepare for the future by being less dependent on the teat of society.  I will survive the unrest that the religion of global warming is perpetrating on the world.

As I mentioned in my last ‘Why we Homeschool’ post, one of the main issues I have is that we are expected to hand over our young children to a complete stranger. That stranger could be a great person, or that stranger could be a raving mad lunatic who wants to put into your child what they are: hateful, immoral, progressive with socialist communist ideology.

Or the person taking your child by hand could be this woman:

Jessica Fuchs (no kidding on the name) a married woman, preyed on a 16 yr old student, had sex with him and then tried to get him to lie to the authorities.

There are hundreds if not thousands of stories like this, and if you think your child is a boy and will not be subject to this, think again. If it’s not some immoral harpie, it will be the fat Sodomite in the Ph Ed dept. None of your children are safe from the predator among us.

Why do school boards hire people like this? Two reasons.

• School boards are typically as immoral as the people they hire.
• They don’t investigate or monitor their teachers properly.

School boards around the world are pushing immorality on our children at younger and younger ages. You think that won’t translate into immoral teachers hired by immoral school boards? This is by design.

Teachers in many parts of the world have banded together in unions and will protect their own. That means that a predator in one part of the country can lose their job, and then be hired by another school in another part of the country. School boards don’t care and that means they are not checking into the people they hire properly. They protect their own. You, as a parent are just an inconvenience to be ignored. Their own, their ideology and immoral appetites are more important.

Keep your children away from people like this. Protect them until they are old enough to protect themselves. Show them the world as it is but keep the barriers up to prevent the world from getting at them.

Saratoga Springs, New York schools win the prize of the day for dividing students by something the Liberal Left calls privilege. This sheet was given to students to evaluate how much ‘privilege’ they have and what some students apparently owe to other students based on a miscellaneous list of attributes.  Of course, this nonsense is meant to tear down White Christian Straight (moral) Males and promote immoral behaviour along with ‘oppressed’ groups primarily based on country origins, sexual perversion and religions.   

This is just another example of the school system creating division within the student body by pushing guilt on one group and promoting victomhood in others.  School is the last place where this nonsense should come into play.  All students are taught and tested in exactly the same way, have the same opportunity for facility use, same teachers, etc.  The smartest and hardest working nearly always rise to the top, while the victims and excuse makers sink to the bottom.  This has little to do with ‘privilege’ and certainly not the privilege that comes from the colour of skin or religion that you practice.  

This sort of evaluation promotes the left’s narrative that is centred on racism (they will say it is equality.)  The dividing of students by various physical traits and family histories simply promotes the differences between all of us and does nothing to remove the division the left has created between the various classes, sexes, nationalities, religions, etc.  This is relativism pap tries once again to create equality of outcome rather than promoting equality of opportunity which is far more important in pulling ‘oppressed’ people up.

We are not all equal.  All families are not the same.  All religions are not the same.  We are all different in various ways.  Want to rise above what your parents have done, above what you history is?  Work hard.  Take advantage of the opportunities that we ALL have to make ourselves better.  Unfortunately, this classification exercise will not create better versions of anyone.  Absolute garbage.  

Teach your children well.  Keep them from this relativistic nonsense.  Don’t let the school system tear them down. Show them the good and the beautiful in the world.  Show them greatness.  

This morning I read an article that described how Frederick Banting (the man who discovoured Insulin and how to produce it safely) sold his patents for insulin to the University of Toronto for $1 back in 1923.  The U of T then gave drug companies permission to produce the product royalty free.  Apparently this was to prevent drug companies from rushing an inferiour product to market in an effort to gain the patents.  Banting said, ‘When the details of the method of preparation are published, anyone would be free to prepare the extract, but no one could secure a profitable monopoly.’  

Yet a mere 18 years later, on April 1st, 1941, the 3 main producers of Insulin in the US pleaded no contest to charges of price-fixing to ‘bring about arbitrary, uniform, and non-competitive prices for insulin and to prevent normal competition in the sale of the drug.’  See newspaper articles here.  (A curious side note, is that this charge was brought against the drug companies a mere month after the death of Sir Frederick Banting.  There maybe no connection, but it is certainly an interesting fact.)

It is reported that those companies were eventually fined $5000.00 each and corporate officers were charge $1500.00 each for their part in the corruption.

Suspicion continued to surround the companies producing Insulin, especially Eli Lilly and Company which was accused of attempting to control the international supply of pig and cow pancreases which were the source of insulin before the advent of artificial insulin.

Flash forward to 2016 and the accusations of massive price fixing continue with calls for an investigation into the exorbitant price of Insulin.  Reports show that even though the patents on Insulin have long expired, the price of the drug have continued to rise artificially by what appears to be collusion among the drug companies.  

Electronics manufacturers have jumped on the ‘lets make a pile of money from this disease’ bandwagon with their production of small portable blood glucose measuring devices.  While these devices are a true lifesaver for those who take control of their diabetes, the price of the essential ‘strips’ are prohibitive for many.  The electronics and plastics bits of these meters cannot cost more than a dollar or two to mass produce in China (which is why manufacturers often give the devices away for free,) yet the price of  the ‘strips’ that accept the blood sample have stayed what appears to be artificially high.  While the strips are marvels of ingenuity, they are still mass produced from inexpensive materials – so why do they cost so much?  ‘Generic’ and ‘store brand’ strip prices have come down providing evidence that the prices being charged by the leading medical device manufacturers is inflated.  I’m a capitalist at heart, but if there was true competition between the device manufacturers, the price would naturally come down … not consistently rise.  This all has the stench of collusion and corruption.

 

Being on Twitter or Facebook, or using Google search for anything is dangerous.  

You need to understand that they are not there to serve you.  They are serving their own people and their own ideology.  You must be constantly on alert if you are hoping to avoid the subtle way they try to influence you.  

Here are is Rule #1 for social media giants:  If it is good, or beautiful, traditional or contains Godly morality – they will try to undermine it.  Look for those things and you’ll find social media presenting the ‘alternative’ point of view as if it were normal and mainstream.

This is the day after the #marchforlife which is a celebration of life and demonstration of solidarity with those who oppose the killing of children. 

Yet my ‘For You’ Twitter feed was 95% full of ‘pro-choice’ posts this morning.  Totally manipulated.  I don’t follow many ‘pro-killers’ in my Twitter feed … in fact, about 90% of the people I follow are pro-life people.  So why is Twitter feeding me ‘pro-choice’ tweets?  

It’s manipulated.  They are doing this to try to move the conversation away from the #marchforlife and toward the evil of child murder.  Remember, if it is good, or moral … it must be attacked.  

How to deal with this?

The best option is probably to leave Twitter and Facebook … Google, etc.  However, in doing so, you lose your voice.  Even if it just a single voice ‘crying in the wilderness’, it has value.  We must oppose evil where we find it.  Running from it does not oppose it.

So we stay.  

I find that if I keep in mind the above Rule in mind (they will attack all things good,) that it becomes easier to see the manipulation and understand it for what it is.  Use that feeling in the back of your mind that you get when you see something not quite right … tune into it because it is usually correct.  Your mind is trying to tell you that something is just not right.  Don’t be mindless on these sites.  They are trying to influence you.

And speak up.  Oppose the evil where it is.

The US Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) has removed Laura Ingalls Wilder’s name from one of its awards over racist views and language.

For one who grew up with my mother reading Little House on the Prairie as a child, I’m disappointed but not at all surprised that Laura Ingles Wilder novels are under attack.  Her storytelling and characters were rich and broad creating visions in my young mind of the prairies before they were planted with both trees and people.  Loved those stories.

As a homeschooling parent, we don’t cater to the Social Justice Warriors.  We don’t do book burning.  Your feelings are less important than the education we are giving our children. We enjoy ‘period pieces’ with the knowledge that while history repeats itself, that we live in different times and sensibilities have changed.  Would I use some of the language found in LHOHP today?  Probably not.  But I’m also not willing to erase my history and the history of North America because of a few hurt feelings.

This is what our education system has become = a place for leftist advocacy and indoctrination. If you put your kids in the public school system, this is what you are sending them into.

I hear some parents say that it’s all OK because they talk to their children at home. That’s not enough! You give your children over to the state and make the state an authority figure for 7 or 8 hours a day, and you think that a 5 minute talk once in a while will offset what that authority is teaching? You’re delusional.

Every topic, especially those in the ‘social studies’ and ‘histories’ will be taught through the filter of leftist activism. Deviant behaviour and obscure ‘progressives’ will be pushed as great while Christian heroes and upright moral people will be downplayed or outright ignored.

You have to pull your kids out of the system. It’s the only way to protect them from the satanic and disgusting filth these sub-humans want to put in the minds of your children.

There is this idea that if you participate in a mentally ill persons’ delusion, somehow this will help them.  That is what the ‘compelled speech’ laws do.  They force you and I, sane people, to use imaginary words or wrong words in how we address people with the idea that somehow this will relieve their anxiety about who they are pretending to be and the delusion that they are living. 

This will nearly always target Christians who are not into lying to people in order to prop up their belief that they are someone or something they are not.  We don’t believe that leaving people in their sin or illness is the Christian way to lead them to Christ.

I don’t want to participate in your pretend world.  I don’t want to use some pretend made up words to address you … nor do I want to pretend you are the opposite sex because you suffer from some delusion about who you are.  I don’t want to live in a make believe world.

I suspect the make believe, pretendy world that Hollywood lives in is probably a big part of why they are so supportive of the acting job we are being asked to participate in. Their reality is not what is in front of their eyes, it’s whatever they can dream up in their warped minds.  Reality and pretend are one and the same for them.

So, when it comes to teacher who stands up for what is right and who, by the sounds of it, tried very hard to keep his job along with his sanity and slipped up once … he’s gone.  Fired.

NOTE:  Looks like he is suing for wrongful dismissal.  Probably won’t go anywhere as this is the system we live in, but he continues to try to do what he can using their rules.  (He won’t win …)

 

One of my favorite books growing up and one I keep on the open shelf in my library is Lord Baden Powell’s Rovering to Success.  This book used to spark my imagination and inspire many of my long distance forest hikes as a teenager.  Now my son enjoys browsing the pages on wintry nights.  

With sections on religion, women and of course the overriding theme of the book being about how to be a quality male, LBP was clearly leading men and Scouts in both a wholesome and morally upright direction.  

Then came the pedo’s and sodomites.  The Woke Scouts of America with their turning a blind eye to the accusations of abuse, promoting homosexuality and then finally bringing girls into the ‘boy’scouts were clearly on a path.  Now we see where that path was leading.  The whole organization in complete shambles, no longer the bastion of moral wholesome behaviour and now finally in bankruptcy; LBP must be rolling over in his grave.  

Anything good … anything wholesome … the beautiful = all must fall before the march of ‘progress’.  Chalk another one up for Satan and his minions.

The organization said Tuesday that Scouting is safer than it’s ever been, saying “approximately 90% of pending and asserted abuse claims against the BSA relate to abuse that occurred more than 30 years ago.”

If you believe this, you shouldn’t be allowed to raise children.  

Teach your children yourself.  Don’t hand them off to some nameless, faceless organization who openly promotes immoral behavour.  You have the responsibility to protect your kids from predatory people.  Raise your children well!

1st a few words about fear.  The vast majority of the breathless panting about Coronavirus is fear based.  This fear is basically a feedback loop: the more you panic and work yourself up, the greater your fear.  Almost every problem we as humans deal with when it comes to stress and worry is based on the fear feedback loop.  

There are many methods one can use to break fear.  As Christians, our greatest weapon against fear is faith and prayer.  The calm one feels when we acknowledge Gods control can instantly relieve the fear.  He is in control, not us and if He determines the time has come, do you think you can stop it? 

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart … Proverbs 3:5

In addition to faith, if you decide to take a cold analytical approach to what you fear, you will often discovour the irrationality of your fears.  Ask yourself questions to get your analytical brain going.  Questions like:

• What is the worst that could happen?
• What is my actual risk here?
• If [feared event] actually comes to pass, can I do things to mitigate the damage? 

Basically, any questions that cause you to rationally approach the problem. 

Another approach to fighting fear is writing … or more specifically list making.  Once you allow your brain to free range over a problem by trying to create a list of some sort, fear is relieved.  For instance:

• List of supplies on hand
• List of friends and family you can call for help
• To Do lists
• List of plans based on scenarios. ie. if A happens, then we follow list X … if B happens, then we go with list Z.

Reviewing such lists, adding notes as they come to you and generally curating your writing are all calming, rational activities that can get you back into the cold, calculating mindset you want to have in the face of danger.

Nothing spreads like Fear:

So my first impressions of Coronavirus after dismissing the hype and panic is that it is the common flu with a helping of special sauce.  Humans have been fighting off the flu for 1000’s of years … and this one is more or less the same as what we’ve been through before.  

The only question that might throw a wrench into the mix is if it is a genetically modified or manufactured virus.  I don’t know enough about genetics to offer an opinion, but I highly doubt it.  Enough people have recovered from CV for me to doubt humans created this as a weapon.  If they did, it’s pretty badly made … typical Walmart Chinese garbage as far as biological weapons go.  So, I’m going with this NOT being a weapon, and just approach it as any other flu during flu season.  The fear is the actual weapon if anything.  

Our family preparations are split into two categories.  

1. Dealing with the virus itself and illness
2. What to do about the fear and panic that is breaking down the supply chains

 

Dealing with the Virus

Avoiding transmission

We are actually doing very little about the virus itself.  No masks or body suits, none of that nonsense.  So far the virus has not come to our little piece of paradise, so we go about our days in a normal way.  If the virus shows up within 100 kms of here we will implement the following:

Postpone until major threat is passed:

• flights anywhere
• theaters
• restaurants
• sporting events
• shopping malls (@Cabelas excepted … for now.)

Basically anywhere people congregate in numbers and in close proximity to each other.  

If the virus shows up in our local community, we will simply stay home and close the gates.  We are equipped to live comfortably for at least 2 months with our stocks and freezers.  We homeschool. No contact with outside people needed.  Visitors will not feel welcome once they come down the driveway.  Simple.  Stay away.

If we get sick

Symptoms will be treated as needed.  Care will be provided by 1 family member only.  Others will be kept separate.  

Vitamin C.  This is where we likely differ from many people prepping for this one.  We have huge stockpiles of Vit C.  Study after study, many of them from the 40’s and 50’s indicate that large doses of Vit C seems to kill most viral infections.  Of course, the public is generally unaware of this and there are few modern studies or recommendations … because there is no money in it.  ‘They’ … ((follow the money,)) want to sell us drugs, not tell us how to self-treat.  This Study provides the dosage we will use if needed.  That’s it.  We are generally healthy people.  We spend lots of time outdoors in the sun and are an active family.  We have strong immune systems.  We will rely on Vit C and good living to fight this infection if needed.

Supply Chain Breakdown

This is where we are spending a little more time in our preps.  Panicked people will always lead to irrational behaviour.  With irrational behaviour comes breaks in the chains of supply.  Companies may not be able to get raw goods needed for manufacture. Their employees may be staying home to avoid getting sick, or because they are sick.  Shelves will not be restocked if nobody is there to stock them.  So I expect there to be shortages in a few areas … mostly the essentials.

I’m not worried about this.  We keep months of essentials on hand anyway.  We bought a few extra rolls of shit tickets, some extra cans of stew, etc.  Nothing crazy, just making sure we had more than enough to live well for a while.  

Vox Day pointed out in one of his streams at Unauthorized.TV that he had stocked up on wine.  There was no way he was going to be uncomfortable, or change his life if things in Italy got shut down.  I hadn’t thought of that … so I also stocked up on some of our luxury items.  Coffee.  Chocolate chips. Diet Soda. Some extra condiments.  Just things that make the good life … good. 

Fuel.  I have five 5 Gallon gasoline jugs that are now all filled.  I rotate the fuel in them into our vehicles and keep them filled.  If/when the gas stations start running dry, there will be a run on fuel.  We’ve seen it before, especially in Toronto during the 2003 Blackout. I won’t be sitting in long lineups for $20 of fuel … nope. 

We have a 1000 watt Yamaha generator at home that we can fire up to keep the freezers frozen if the power goes out.  We also have a completely self contained camper complete with solar power which we can also bring into play if we need to keep the lights on.  Basically, we have enough backup power to run anything that might need running if there was a prolonged blackout. 

Propane.  I have 3 full 30 lb jugs.  Enough to run the grill and camper stovetop for months if needed.

Medicine.  I hate this part of preps.  Pray. 

That is our family plan.  A few extras above and beyond our regular stocks.  A few plans if the virus comes knocking. Other than that = no fear.

Spring will be here soon.  Garden will need to be planted.  That means sunshine, exercise and all the other things that build healthy people and strong immune systems.
